Stéphanie Claivaz-Loranger has a diverse practice focused on commercial law and nonprofit governance. She is valued for her ability to understand her clients’ business realities, her analytical rigor, and the quality of the guidance she provides on both legal and strategic matters. Her broad client base, which includes mid-sized and large businesses as well as nonprofit organizations of all sizes, reflects the versatility of her practice.
Stéphanie acts as a trusted legal and business advisor to her clients. She supports them in their day-to-day operations, particularly through the drafting and negotiation of a wide range of commercial agreements, including service agreements, purchase and sale agreements, procurement agreements, sponsorship agreements, and other commercial arrangements. She advises clients on strategic decisions involving legal considerations and risk management.
Stéphanie also provides legal services tailored to nonprofit organizations, particularly in matters relating to governance, incorporation and corporate organization, as well as registered charities.
Prior to joining Delegatus, Stéphanie spent 8 years working as a lawyer and policy analyst for various nonprofit organizations operating in the field of HIV/AIDS in Canada and internationally, including COCQ-SIDA in Montréal, the HIV Legal Network in Toronto, and the Global Fund to Fight AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria in Geneva. She also served as a senior consultant to the United Nations and foreign governments.
Since joining Delegatus, Stéphanie has advised BIXI Montréal on a wide range of commercial law and governance matters.
Before choosing to focus on in-house practice, Stéphanie worked at Stikeman Elliott, in mergers and acquisitions, as well as in environmental law.
