Biography

Catherine Valotaire has extensive experience in corporate law, securities and governance. She also has a strong business sense and an ability to work with senior management, as well as great management and risk assessment skills.

Ms. Valotaire is versatile, rigorous and practical, and has led many projects within a large financial institution while ensuring its compliance to laws, regulations and applicable practices.


Business experience

Prior to joining Delegatus, Catherine was a corporate counsel at National Bank of Canada. There, she was responsible of managing several obligations pertaining to securities and participated in the revision and implementation of internal policies. Throughout her mandate, she also managed the financial institution’s trademarks.

Catherine also acted as assistant corporate secretary for some subsidiaries and was responsible for the preparation of the board meetings, the preparation of minutes and maintaining their books while ensuring their compliance with the various applicable laws, regulations and practices.


Experience in private practice

Catherine started her practice at Bélanger Sauvé and Cayer Ouellette lawyers, where she practiced primarily in the fields of corporate law and litigation from 2006 to 2008.
