A seasoned lawyer and legal advisor, Christine Joyal has extensive experience in commercial, transactional, and corporate law, regulatory compliance, and governance. Having worked primarily within large national and international organizations, particularly in the cosmetics and technology industries, she supports businesses in the strategic management of their legal and business matters.
Throughout her career, she has held senior legal leadership positions, such as Senior Legal Counsel and Vice President of Legal Affairs, negotiating and overseeing complex commercial agreements, advising executive committees, leading mergers and acquisitions, and ensuring compliance with Canadian and international laws and regulations. Her expertise notably includes advertising and competition law, privacy, and Health Canada and the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) regulations.
Recognized for her strong business acumen, rigor, and leadership, Christine adopts a pragmatic, collaborative, and solutions-oriented approach, delivering concrete and effective outcomes that create real value for the organizations she advises.
Prior to joining Delegatus, Christine served as Vice President, Legal Affairs at CorpoMax, a Delaware-based company specializing in U.S. corporate law. She held a key position during CorpoMax’s acquisition by another U.S. company and led its integration in a complex and rapidly evolving environment.
Previously, she held the position of Senior Legal Counsel at L’Oréal Canada, where she acted as a strategic business partner with senior management and multiple divisions. Her responsibilities included negotiating and managing complex commercial agreements and overseeing regulatory compliance, particularly in advertising, competition, and Health Canada regulations. She led acquisitions and the integration of new subsidiaries, contributed to the optimization and automation of legal processes, trained marketing teams, proactively managed legal and business risks, and served as a Diversity, Equity and Inclusion ambassador.
Christine also worked as Legal Counsel at Goli Nutrition, supporting the company’s growth by advising leadership on commercial agreements and regulatory compliance matters in Canada and the United States, including Health Canada and FDA requirements. She implemented contract management tools and contributed to the automation and efficiency of the Legal Department.
At Intelerad Medical Systems, she combined legal and contract management responsibilities in a highly regulated technological environment. She coordinated the ESG program, participated in acquisitions, and contributed to the safeguard of personal information.
Earlier in her career, she served as Legal Counsel and Manager, Legal and Compliance, at Createch, a subsidiary of Bell Canada. Within this role, she was responsible for the full contract lifecycle, advised management on legal matters and litigation related to business operations, participated in the strategic planning of the Legal Department, analyzed Request for Proposals from a risk management perspective, and ensured compliance with governmental regulatory requirements.
At the outset of her career, Christine practiced law at Jacqueline Anciaes Avocats, where she advised clients in commercial law, family law, and children’s law.
