A solutions‑driven lawyer, I advise clients on the negotiation and management of commercial leasing matters by combining strong legal analysis, business insight and a pragmatic approach.
Lina Slavova is a lawyer with solid expertise in commercial real estate law, particularly in the drafting and negotiation of commercial leases. She has held in‑house legal roles within both small and large organizations, while also developing an external advisory practice, enabling her to effectively support clients in structuring, administering and optimizing their lease portfolios.
Throughout her career, Lina has worked in a wide range of organizational settings, from large national companies to specialized real estate firms, giving her a deep understanding of the operational realities and commercial imperatives faced by her clients. Known for her pragmatic mindset, she stands out for her ability to combine sound legal analysis with efficiency in file management, notably in the context of negotiations, lease‑related disputes, due diligence processes, property management matters, and coordination with internal and external stakeholders.
Over the course of her career, Lina Slavova has held several strategic in‑house legal positions, primarily in the commercial real estate sector, where she acted as a trusted legal partner to business and property management teams.
Most recently, she served as Director of Legal Services at Landmark Advisory Services, where she was responsible for managing and prioritizing legal requests while providing strategic and technical guidance to her team. Her responsibilities included drafting, reviewing and negotiating commercial leases, preparing legal opinions, and negotiating service agreements. She also oversaw due diligence processes in the context of transactions, coordinated arbitration matters, and ensured compliance with applicable regulatory requirements, including those relating to real estate brokerage. In addition, she played a key structural role within the organization by implementing internal tools and initiatives aimed at improving efficiency and harmonizing legal practices.
Previously, at Lowe’s Canada (RONA), Lina held the position of Legal Counsel, supporting the company’s operations across Canada. She advised internal teams on the negotiation and management of a wide range of commercial leasing documents, including leases, assignments, subleases, expansions and termination agreements. She also provided legal advice to property management teams regarding the rights and obligations of the company and its landlords.
Prior to this role, she served as in‑house legal counsel at Kevric Real Estate Corporation and First Capital Realty, two well‑established players in the commercial real estate sector. In these positions, she supported leasing and property management teams by negotiating and drafting commercial leasing agreements and by intervening in the management of tenant disputes, including the coordination of litigation matters.
Earlier in her career, Lina worked as Legal Counsel at Groupe Mach, where she was involved in major commercial real estate acquisitions, including the coordination of financing arrangements, supervision of due diligences, and negotiation of commercial leases and purchase offers. She also contributed to the development of litigation strategies in collaboration with external legal counsel. She began her in‑house legal career at Sandalwood Management, where she participated in structuring the commercial lease management department.
Alongside her in‑house roles, Lina Slavova practiced as external legal counsel, further strengthening her solution‑oriented approach and her ability to translate legal advice into practical, operational outcomes. She has acted as a consultant, assisting organizations with the negotiation and drafting of commercial leasing agreements, the development of practical tools to facilitate lease administration, and the resolution of disputes with a view to limiting costs and operational impacts for clients.
Lina has also worked with major commercial real estate owners in Montreal, supporting them in commercial leasing matters and the management of lease‑related issues. Earlier in her career, she gained experience in civil and commercial litigation, including legal research, drafting legal opinions and appearing before the courts.
