Today, he focuses his practice on supporting nonprofit organizations (NPOs) in legal and governance matters. Pierre‑Paul served as Vice President of Legal Affairs at Cinégroupe, a film production and distribution company. In addition to establishing the legal affairs department, he negotiated, drafted, and reviewed key agreements related to labor relations, financing, production, distribution, and merchandising of the group’s works, as well as agreements essential to sound operational management.
Pierre‑Paul began his career in private practice at mid-sized firms, where he gained solid training in civil, commercial, and municipal law. At Gagnon Lacoste, he progressed from associate to partner, taking on business development responsibilities while advising clients on diverse legal issues. He later joined Dupuis Bourdages Tremblay Morais as partner and managing director, focusing on corporate, commercial, and labor law while driving the firm’s strategic growth. In 1991, Pierre‑Paul moved to Guy Gilbert, a large firm, where he practiced labor law and intellectual property.
Following these experiences, Pierre‑Paul co-founded Bourdages Giard, where he practiced for over 30 years as partner, supporting a wide range of clients in governance, corporate and commercial law, litigation, labor law, real estate, and intellectual property. Over the years, he developed specialized expertise in nonprofit governance.
