With nearly 25 years of experience as both a lawyer and entrepreneur, I offer professional and strategic services that help my clients move forward more effectively in business.
Vincent Hoss-Desmarais is a seasoned bilingual lawyer whose practice spans labour law, civil and commercial litigation, dispute resolution, and intellectual property, with a particular focus on copyright-related matters. Over the course of his career, he has appeared before the Quebec Court of Appeal, the Superior Court, the Court of Québec, and various administrative tribunals.
In labour law, Vincent supports his clients in negotiations and mediations involving notice periods, severance packages, and damage claims. He also conducts internal investigations following allegations of workplace misconduct and provides contract drafting and review services, including employment agreements and terminations, corporate policies, and documents related to labour relations. He offers guidance in dispute resolution, whether pre-litigation or during legal proceedings, and drafts legal opinions on complex legal issues.
Alongside his legal career, Vincent is also a professional actor and producer. He has played dozens of roles in film, theatre, live performance, television, radio, and video games, including several leading roles. He has produced both feature-length and short films. Additionally, he founded and was the co-owner of the art gallery Apollon & Apollinaire, acted as the spokesperson for the video editing app dubdub, and directed several video news reports as a freelance journalist for the HuffPost Quebec. This dual expertise enables him to offer clients a distinctive style of representation that combines legal rigor, communication skills, and business acumen, reflecting his unique background as a lawyer, litigator, artist, and entrepreneur.
In addition to his role as a producer at Holia Film, Vincent has also worked as in-house counsel. In that capacity, he was responsible for reviewing and negotiating various contracts related to financing, tax credits, and intellectual property, including the analysis of copyright, trademarks, and collective agreements.
Vincent has extensive experience in private practice, having worked with various law firms throughout his career. Among them is Pouliot Mercure (now Miller Thomson), where he practiced in civil and commercial litigation, labour law, and security enforcement. He later continued his career as a freelance lawyer for several years, expanding his practice to include copyright law, commercial law, and corporate dispute resolution.
Before joining Delegatus, Vincent was a partner and co-founder of the firm Kellerman Hoss-Desmarais, where he advised clients in labour and commercial law, while also representing them in litigation and conflict resolution matters.
