Working in the legal field since 2009, Marie-Pier is a paralegal with diversified experience in corporate and transactional law, intellectual property, privacy, occupational health and safety, labour law and commercial litigation. Throughout her career, she has had the opportunity to work in a wide variety of environments, both in-house and within major law firms. Having previously held the position of legal assistant and practice support manager in a firm, her diverse background in the legal profession has given her unique expertise, versatility in her practice and a deep understanding of her clients’ needs.
Marie-Pier supports her clients in maintaining corporate books for provincial and federal corporations, in the due diligence process and in drafting closing documents for transactions. She also reviews corporate status and updates minute books and corporate registers. In addition, Marie-Pier assists her clients in the drafting and analysis of contracts and agreements involving various types of law, as well as in jurisprudential and doctrinal research.
Marie-Pier held the role of legal practice support at Delegatus before becoming a paralegal entrepreneur. Her role included managing legal affairs in support of Delegatus and its lawyers, coordinating administrative services and overseeing internal processes relating to conflict of interest management and file openings.
Prior to joining Delegatus, Marie-Pier was a paralegal with the Institut national de la recherche scientifique (INRS), where she gathered and analyzed information required for the preparation and drafting of various contracts, contributed to the analysis and management of contractual risks, supported the preparation of files submitted to various bodies, conducted case law and doctrinal research, and reviewed various internal policies, directives and procedures.
Marie-Pier also worked for nearly 7 years as a disability management consultant for an occupational health and safety risk management consulting firm. In this role, she took complete charge of clients’ work accident and occupational disease files, as well as analyzing medical-administrative documentation and drafting written arguments for the various experts.
Marie-Pier worked as a paralegal and legal assistant for a regional law firm. In this role, she drafted documentation required for incorporations, organizations and amendments to corporate by-laws, analyzed corporate documentation for due diligence and updating of corporate books, drafted share capital structures and various corporate and transactional documents specific to corporate reorganizations, and collaborated in the implementation process of a software solution for managing electronic corporate books.
